INTRODUCTION
This course is for the students who are in grade Ten and interested in learning reported speech. Reported Speech (also called Indirect Speech) is used to communicate what someone else said, but without using the exact words.
Traditionally, two broad categories of reported speech have been recognized: direct speech (in which the original speaker's words are quoted word for word) and indirect speech (in which the original speaker's thoughts are conveyed without using the speaker's exact words).
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course the students will be able to;
- define direct speech and indirect speech
- distinguish between direct and indirect speech
- convert direct speech to indirect speech and indirect speech to direct speech
